Ideas for Asking
(for Ages 16-18)
|
Write your message on toilet paper and toilet paper their house.
Try having a date announced on a local radio station (sometimes local disc jockeys are endowed with a good sense of humor and will help out free of charge). Then send an anonymous note asking him/her to listen to that station at the time the announcement is to be made.
Send a telegram. You can either send the real thing or make your own--and have it delivered by a friend. Better yet, convince a few of your friends to don crazy outfits, and work up a "singing telegram" to be performed on the front steps.
On a blank T-shirt, write with permanent marker, write on a plain shirt, "Out of all the names on this tee will you go to_________with me?" Write different names all over the shirt with washable marker, then write your name with permanent marker. Give instructions to wash the shirt to find out who is asking (your name will be the only one left).
To ask someone to a dance: Make a home-made snowglobe with pieces of paper that float around and that say "how bout sadie?" on them. Make sure there are lots with those words.
Get a bunch of your friends that have a boyfriend or girlfriend and plan an day at the amusement park. Then go up to the girl or guy and say "A bunch of us are going to _________. I was wondering if you wanted to go with us (or me)." There's smaller chance of those awkward silences because there are a bunch of friends. NOTE: This works the best if the person you're asking out knows everyone. Also make sure everyone that goes is coupled (that way you can be together and there are no single friends to mess up your chances).
Make a nose out of clay and say "nobody 'nose' how bad I want you to 'pick' me for prom". and then fill the nostrils with peanut butter or some other gross sticky substance and put your invitation in one of the nostrils.
The guy that asked me to a dance is really athletic, and especially loves soccer. He had a game that night, and before a game, the team asks girls to wear their soccer jerseys, and he asked me to wear his. That night I wore his jersey to the game, and I watched him play. At the end of his game, he walked across the soccer field with a huge bouquet of my favorite flowers, and a t-shirt that he made that said " ----, will you go to the ------ with me?" And on the back, it said," Please say yes!"
Fill a bucket full of mud and put the message somewhere inside... make him/her find it.
"Star light, Star bright, will you be my prom date on this April night?" Write that message on cardboard star cut-outs and put them on the bedroom walls of the person you are asking to the dance.
Get a small cake pan and fill it with water. Laminate your message, and when the water is partly frozen, put the it in the middle. When it is frozen, frost it to look like a cake. They will try to eat it and will have to wait for it to melt. :)
Make a big sign that says "It would blow my mind if you'd pop and say yes to ________ with me." Then get his/her favorite soda, some blow pops, popcorn, suckers, balloons and bubbles. Place the items next to the sign. Remember to put your name in one of the balloons so he/she has to pop them all to find your name!
A cute way to ask someone you don't know well to a dance is to buy the Ice Breaker gum and put it all over their room with a sign that says "I think Prom would be a good ice breaker, will you go with me?"
Get some eggs and hard boil them, one for every letter of your name. After they are done, let them cool in the fridge over night. The next day use a white crayon and put one letter of your name on each egg.. Put some candy in the basket, and a note that says something like, "I'm dyeing to go to the dance with you...to find out who this, is dye the eggs and put the name together."
Make a cake, and then with Alpha-bits Cereal, spell out "Will you go out with me?".
